It was a pleasure to attend last week’s Word Factory Christmas party, hosted by Cathy Galvin.
There was a warm welcome for us all in The Music Room, Great Ormond Street, with plenty of writerly company!
I was delighted to be able to read – chosen by the favoured method of names out of a hat – as it gave me the opportunity to give a first ‘airing’ of my Bristol Short Story Prize winner, ‘A Cure For All Our Ills’, (except for the award ceremony, where everything was a bit of a blur!). I think it was well-received! There were some other excellent readings, too, and it’s a lovely venue – the second time I’ve read there, the first being at a Cinnamon Press anthology launch.Thank you, Cathy, and Christmas greetings to all the other writers I met there!
