Last night – the 2nd of May – saw the launch of my novella, ‘The Sisters of Cynvael’.
The launch took place online, together with ‘Love Haunts in Shades of Blue’, a poetry collection by Yvonne Baker.
Both books are recipients of prizes awarded by Cinnamon Press, through competitions they run. In my case, ‘Sisters’ won the 2022 Literature Award, resulting in its publication this year.
It was a pleasure to read from the book, which, I believe, lends itself to spoken-word – which is not something I always feel about my work! As the back of the book kindly states, it is a ‘gripping feast of language and invention’! As I mentioned in my introduction, I was aware when writing it that the style was somewhat ‘quirky’, and I doubted, then, that it would find a home. So it was particularly rewarding that Adam, who edited it, changed little in the text.
Thank you to all who attended the launch and thank you, of course, to Jan, Adam and all at Cinnamon.
‘The Sisters of Cynvael’ is published by Liquorice Fish Books, an imprint of Cinnamon, and is available from Cinnamon Press and from Amazon.
