Bridge House Publishing Christmas Dinner

A trip to London, for the Bridge House Publishing Christmas dinner.

Guests were those who had been published by Bridge House in the past year, so I was there, courtesy of my story, ‘Adoration’, which was selected for inclusion in their ‘Magi’ anthology.

The event took place in the rather gloriously-named ‘Theodore Bullfrog’ pub, very conveniently located, near Charing Cross station.

Although I didn’t know anyone, beforehand, it is always easy to talk to fellow writers, and I was lucky enough to have mother and daughter, Rachel and Hannah Retallick, opposite, from Anglesey, and we were soon chatting away.

After the meal, we ‘circulated’, providing the opportunity to talk to other authors, and buy books, after which several of us read from our work.

It was altogether a very pleasant event – thank you so much, Gill James, of Bridge House, for organising it… and for liking my story! Gill is yet another of those one-woman publishing power-houses, whom writers have so much to be thankful for.

Then it was a case of battling through insane London crowds – although I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of whatever the collective noun is for a gathering of Father Christmases in Trafalgar Square!
